A Veteran Built It: How I Will Survive, Inc. Is Championing Fellow Veterans
When you spend years serving in the armed forces, discipline and mission-focus become second nature. But for Anisa Palmer, combat veteran turned founder of I Will Survive, Inc., the mission didn't end when her uniform came off. It simply shifted from protecting our nation on the battlefield to fighting a deeply personal war right here at home: defeating breast cancer.
As a veteran-founded nonprofit, we understand what it means to leave no one behind. That core ethos drives everything we do, bridging critical healthcare gaps for individuals and families facing the unimaginable.
A Shared Mission: Standing Alongside VALOR Georgia
Service members and veterans carry a unique resilience. That is why our vision aligns so naturally with initiatives like VALOR Georgia and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce veterans division. Both organizations champion those who served, building powerful networks that foster empowerment, leadership, and community support.
We know that transitioning into civilian life or navigating complex healthcare systems can sometimes feel overwhelming. It seems we can't always find all the answers right away when health crises strike. However, we believe that by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with community partners and chamber networks, we can create an unbreakable safety net for veterans, survivors, and their families.

Taking Action on the Frontlines: The Mobile Wellness Clinic
In the military, supplies and medical support are brought directly to where they are needed most. We brought that exact operational strategy to healthcare access.
Too many individuals face barriers to early detection due to geography, lack of insurance, or financial hardship. To solve this, our mobile health clinic veterans and community programs deliver critical services directly to neighborhoods throughout Gwinnett, DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton, and rural Georgia.
Our Mobile Wellness Clinic provides:
- Life-saving mammography screenings for early detection
- JScreen genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk assessment
- ASK Me Your MD telemedicine consultations for immediate, expert medical guidance

Why This Fight Matters
Statistics show that early detection saves lives: yet access remains unequal.
- Over 40% of rural residents face significant travel barriers to specialized cancer screening facilities.
- Financial assistance programs can reduce late-stage diagnoses by ensuring timely screenings for at-risk populations.
Perhaps you or someone you know has felt the heavy toll of a breast cancer diagnosis. Perhaps you are looking for a meaningful way to honor a loved one's memory. We invite you to join us in this mission. Together, we can ensure that no veteran, survivor, or family member fights this battle alone.
