Powerful Partnerships: How Jasper and FORCE are Helping Us Move Beyond Surviving

When you first hear the words "you have cancer," your world stops. Then, it speeds up into a whirlwind of appointments, scans, and treatments. But what happens when the active treatment ends? Or what happens when you discover you’re at a high genetic risk before a diagnosis even occurs? For many in our community, that transition period can feel like standing on the edge of a cliff without a map.

At I Will Survive, Inc., we’ve always believed that surviving is just the starting line. Our mission as a breast cancer awareness organization in Atlanta is to ensure that no one has to walk that path alone. We want to help you move beyond surviving and truly reclaim your life. That’s why we’re so incredibly excited to announce a new, powerhouse partnership. We’ve teamed up with Jasper Health and FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered to bring you the tools, the science, and the community support you deserve.

A New Chapter in Empowerment

It seems we can’t always provide every single resource a survivor needs on our own, and that’s okay. We believe that by working together, we can create a safety net that covers every aspect of the journey. This three-way partnership is designed to bridge the gaps between clinical care, genetic awareness, and daily life management.

Whether you are currently in treatment, navigating life as a survivor, or managing a high hereditary risk, this collaboration is for you. We’ve brought together the digital innovation of Jasper Health and the genetic expertise of FORCE to complement our local grassroots support right here in Georgia.

Meet Jasper Health: Your Digital Care Companion

Managing cancer, or the high risk of it, often feels like a full-time job. There are medications to track, symptoms to monitor, and a mountain of paperwork to climb. Jasper Health has created a digital platform (an easy-to-use app) that acts as a personal navigator for your health.

Jasper’s platform isn't just a calendar; it’s a holistic space where you can:

  • Track your symptoms: Keep a real-time log of how you’re feeling so you can share accurate info with your doctor.
  • Manage appointments: Never miss a follow-up or a scan.
  • Connect with peers: Perhaps the most beautiful part of Jasper is their peer-to-peer social support network. You can talk to people who actually "get it."

Having this kind of technology in your pocket makes the overwhelming parts of the journey feel a bit more manageable. It’s about taking the stress out of the logistics so you can focus on your well-being.

FORCE: Expertise in Hereditary Cancer

While Jasper helps with the day-to-day, our partners at FORCE bring the deep-dive expertise into the world of hereditary cancer. If you’ve ever wondered about your genetic risks, such as the BRCA mutation, FORCE is the gold standard for information.

FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) focuses on the millions of people who possess a genetic mutation that increases their risk of certain cancers. Knowledge is a form of medicine. When you understand your risks, you can make empowered decisions about your screenings, preventative measures, and treatment options.

By integrating FORCE’s specialized knowledge into our network, we’re making sure that those at high risk have the same level of support and advocacy as those currently fighting the disease. We’re moving beyond just awareness and into proactive, life-saving action.

Why This Matters for the Atlanta Community

As an npo in atlanta, we see the specific challenges our local families face. We know that access to high-level genetic counseling and sophisticated health management tools isn't always equal. This partnership helps level the playing field.

We want to make sure that a mother in Cartersville or a student in Atlanta has the same access to world-class digital tools and genetic expertise as anyone else. By combining these resources, we’re strengthening the fabric of our local support system.

Tools for the "New Normal"

Moving beyond surviving often means managing long-term side effects that aren't always discussed in the doctor's office. Things like "chemobrain," persistent fatigue, and the emotional weight of recurrence anxiety are real.

Through the Jasper Health app, you can access specific modules on fatigue management and emotional wellness. These aren't just generic tips; they are actionable strategies designed by experts.

Managing these symptoms is a huge part of reclaiming your joy. When you aren't constantly fighting exhaustion, you have more room for the things that matter, like playing with your kids, returning to a job you love, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon in Piedmont Park.

Building a Community of "Previvors" and Survivors

One of the most powerful things about this partnership is how it brings different groups together. We often talk about "survivors," but FORCE has helped popularize the term "previvors", individuals who have a high risk of cancer but haven't been diagnosed.

We’re creating a space where previvors and survivors can support one another. The wisdom of a long-term survivor can be an incredible comfort to someone who just found out they carry a BRCA mutation. Conversely, the proactive energy of the previvor community inspires all of us to stay vigilant about our health.

Perhaps you’ve felt like you didn't "fit in" to a traditional support group because your journey looks a little different. With Jasper's social network and our combined community events, we hope you find exactly where you belong.
